A cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle with trapezoidal frame. The buckle is 34 mm long and 23 mm wide and 2 mm thick. The upper and lower frame elements are 3.2 mm wide with bevelled inner edges. The inner edges of both ends of the frame are vertical and the faces are decorated with an incised vertical line. The outer edges of the frame have central pointed knops with transverse grooves as pin rests and ovoid knops at the corners. The pin is missing. There are flat-ended lobed protrusions at both ends of the strap bar which is bevelled and 3 mm wide but flush with the frame. The upper face of the frame also retains some of its tinning.

Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar trapezoidal buckle with grooves on p.84, no.524 which is dated from c.1620-1680.

Flynn and Geake (2018) in the new Finds Recording Guide for Buckles illustrate an almost identical buckle on page 48, second row, centre, dating from the 17th century.
