A conical lead weight of uncertain date. This artefact has a sub-circular cross-section and flat base of maximum 22.9mm diameter. The weight has a height of 15.1mm and the external walls between the base and conical apex appear straight but on close inspection have a slight concave curve. A vertical circular aperture is present through the centre of the weight. At the conical apex this has a diameter of 4.7mm and at the weight's flat base this is slightly more oval in shape measuring 5.0mm x 4.7mm. The walls of this aperture are cylindrical. This perforation may have been used to allow the weight to be suspended, for example from a steelyard balance rather than the flat base being sat upon a balance pan plate. Alternatively it may have been utilised in storing the object, the weight being placed over a peg to hold the artefact in place and prevent movement. This artefact weighs 30.04g (1.06oz).

One side of the of the external surface of this artefact is somewhat flattened in comparison to the rest of the artefact's circumference. Lead is a heavy soft metal which can deform under its own weight. The flattened area of this object is probably a result of the object having lain on its side for some time.

Lead weighs can be extremely difficult to date unless found in sealed archaeologically excavated deposits. As such it has not been possible to date this unstratified artefact.
