A sherd from a cordoned Roman vessel. The cord decoration is prominent and there are two incised lines above and below the cord. The vessel is oxidised orange on the outer surfaces with a reduced grey core. The fabric is fine grained with sparce inclusions of quartz less than 0.5mm in diameter, crushed shell and charcoal approximately 0.5mm - 1mm in diameter. This is a beach find and many inclusions have been lost or dissolved as a result of the action of the sea.
