An incomplete copper-alloy seal matrix of probable Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1600 - 1700. The die of the matrix is circular with a tapering ovate sectioned handle extending from the reverse. The handle flattens and splits to terminate in a worn break.
The die itself bears a central motif depicting a standing bird with outstretched wings and an olive branch in its beak.
The metal has a mid-red/brown patina and is worn. The seal matrix is 14.4mm tall, the die is 13.5mm in diameter, the handle is 12mm x 2.6mm and it weighs 2.9g.
