Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, Length: 28 mm, width: 24 mm, thickness: 8 mm, weight: 31.29 g.
The object is circular in form, but slightly squashed, and sub rectangular in cross section with a central circular hole 8-10 mm in diameter.
The whorl has unusual decoration, having a slightly raised lip on the outer edge of each surface. Sitting within this is a series of raised open circles on both faces. The form matches Walton Rogers type B, dating it from 900-1200.
