Copper alloy mount. Cast T-shaped harness mount, as kindly identified by Rob Webley. Rob comments: 'I would suggest that this is medieval, and specifically a harness mount. Please see SOM-6231A5, for example'. The mount has an upper bar of plano-convex section from which projects the stubs of integrally cast fixing prongs, the longer now c.4.5mm long. A drilled aperture of diameter 3.5mm is set centrally in the upright of the T, with a rectangular lop immediately below it, set at right angles to the rest of the mount and forward of its flat back. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1250-1400.

Height: 30.3mm, Width: 18.5mm, Thickness: 3.8mm, Weight: 4.38gms
