A medieval cast lead spindle whorl. The object comprises a biconical loom weight with a central hole. within the central hole is an indentation.. Both faces are decorated with raised lettering and patterning. One side has the letters W E T and a diamond shape. The letter endings are finished with pellets.The other side has a five pointed star with splayed lines extending from between the points of the star. Pellets are distributed around the star and the splayed lines.

Overall diameter: 32.4mm. thickness: 10.6mm, weight: 42.6 g
