A nearly complete hone or whetstone of undetermined date, probably Medieval or later but an earlier date should not be ruled out. The stone is rectangular in plan, profile and section. The whetstone is formed from a reddish grey, coarse grained grit/sandstone. The side surfaces show distinct bedding planes within the matrix. The edges and the tip are all worn with at least one distinct grinding sharpening surface is present. Whetstones are used for long periods in the agricultural landscape and a medieval or later date is preferred

The stone is 83.2mm length, 40.1mm width, is 24.2mm thick and weighs 108 grams
