An incomplete object, possibly the handle of a key dating to the medieval or post medieval period. The object comprises a looped terminal which is hexagonal in plan and rectangular in section. The terminal extends to a fragmentary circular-section stem which is hollow and filled with lead solder or corrosion products. A patch of white metal coating or tinning or adheres to part of the stem. The object measures 42mm in length, 30mm in width and a maximum of 4mm in thickness.
