Cast Copper-alloy single looped buckle with integral forked spacer plate. Medieval in date, c. AD1350 - AD1450.
The frame is sub-oval in plan and has a pointed lip for a pin rest. Vestiges of an iron pin remain upon the frame opposite the lip, around the pin bar at the base of the forked spacer. A locating ridge flanks the pin bar at the base of the forked spacer and this would have abutted with the buckle plate. The forked spacer is truncated. The flaky surface patina is light green in colour and abraded with base metal exposed.
Dimensions: The buckle is 23.58 mm long, 20.87 mm wide and 4.70 mm thick. It weighs: 3.11 grams.
