Copper alloy and ?lead crystal? seal matrix. A sub-rectangular stone of colourless crystal or glass [length 15mm] engraved with an ornate letter R with extended curling serifs, clasped in a lightweight copper alloy handle with three rounded steps in profile between the matrix and an oval handle with spurs at its inner ends, with a suspension loop above this and at right angles to it. There are faint traces of finely incised rays on the top of the holder. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1850.
