~~Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings hold the pin axis bar, the spring is heavily corroded but is made up of 9 curls but the pin is missing. The wings are decorated with two recessed vertical lines on the front. There is a loop at the top of the head that holds the external cord of the spring, this then extends down the front of the head forming a short crest nestled in between raised sides. The bottom of the bow is truncated resulting in the loss of the catch plate.
