A medieval copper alloy hooked fastener, of Howsam type A3 or A5. The fastener is flat and comprises a lozenge shaped body with a rectangular panel and hook at one end. The other end has a diamond shaped panel leading to a flared or splayed incomplete attachment end. A copper alloy rivet is located through the centre of the attachment end. The rectangular panel only of the fastener is decorated with a perimeter of engraved zig-zags, divided internally by two further lines of zig zags.
