An incomplete Roman to Early Medieval propeller-shaped belt stiffener, dating to AD 350-450. The outer edges of the short ends of the sub-trapezoidal stylised propeller have a central v-shaped notch and a three-lobed knop at each corner. The front face of the belt stiffener has two incised ring-and-dot marks and a circular rivet hole between the pair of corners forementioned. The front face of the central circular element has a central engraved ring-and-dot. Traces of gilding are visible on the front face of one of the three-lobed knop. The back face is undecorated; the rivets are missing. The belt stiffener is abraded and slightly bent.
