Pale honey-coloured semi-translucent flint probable gunflint. A rectangular flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a near-flat ventral surface. Short abrupt retouch executed form the ventral aspect trims one shorter side edge. Very short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect extends along two adjacent edges, and probably represents the action of the hammer of a flintlock - or possibly of a tinderbox with a comparable mechanism for striking a spark. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1800.
