A group of Three fragments of a copper alloy Vessel of Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1200-1700). The fragments are two rim sherds and one small body sherd and are sub-rectangular and triangular in shape. The interior surfaces have well-defined circumferential grooves. The shallow curvature suggests a wide vessel.
Cast copper-alloy vessels were in common usage c 1200 - 1700 AD, becoming superseded in the 18th century by cast-iron vessels.
The metal is a dark green/grey in colour with both surfaces with a predominantly smooth patina.
