A copper alloy artefact, probably a strap end of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1400. It is sub-rectangular, folded at one short end to form matching front and back plates. The attachment end of the plates are cut into a rounded, sub-circular shape, with a neck linking the rectangular strap end and the circular terminal. It has an integral rievt in the circular end. It is 36.7mm long, 15.4mm wide and 5.6mm thick. It weighs 12.79gm. Compare NMS-C08923 which was thought to be from harness.
