An incomplete copper alloy late medieval purse frame, dating AD1450-1550. The bar is L-shaped in cross-section, transitioning into a flat, incomplete perforated lug at one end and truncated by an old break at the other. One flange of the L-sectioned is perforated three times along its length.
It is 56.47mm in length, 7.37mm in width and weighs 8.40g. The hole which is clearly designed for fixing is c 5mm in diameter, the three smaller holes which may have been added later and are now damaged are c 3mm in diameter.
