An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment probably originating from the tip of a Middle to Late Bronze Age dirk or rapier, dating c. 1550-1150 BC. It is triangular in plan and lozengiform in section, each side of the blade demonstrating a raised central rib. The fragment consists the very upper section of the blade, broken at its lower edge in an old irregular truncation and with the extreme tip missing due to an old break which has also bent part of the object sharply. Preserved with a dark brownish green patina with pitted surfaces, it survives to a length of 38.01mm, 11.47mm wide at its lower edge, 2.81mm thick at its midpoint and weighs 4.55g. A wide date range has been prescribed here as the diagnostic portions of the object are all missing in old damage.
