Copper-alloy fragment from the tip of a projectile of uncertain date (c. 2350 BC - 1600 AD). The fragment is triangular in profile. It has a faceted mid-rib, making the object hexagonal in section, with blades extending to either side. The surface of the object and the edges of the blade are chipped and worn and it carries a shiny dark brown patina. Not enough of the object remains to allow a certain identification, although it is likely to have been from a socketed arrowhead or spearhead. The faceting of the midrib may suggest a later, perhaps medieval date as earlier projectile points tend to have a sharper midrib. The object is 27.5mm in length, 13.0mm at maximum width and 7.0mm at maximum thickness. It weighs 6.90g.
