Copper alloy lock escutcheon. Cast plate of indented shield shape with small two knops below and a larger knop above, the latter with a stud presumably relating to its fixing and movement. A sun or star symbol and the legend: IMPROVED/HAND/MADE appear on the outer side, while black paint traces appear on the back. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1850-1900.
