A complete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy mount or stud (c. 1400-c. 1700).

The head of the mount is convex at the top and concave on the underside. The upper face is moulded and flower head-like in form. It consists of a central double lozenge surrounded by eight pellets, all surrounded by crescents. The integral tapering spike is square in cross-section.

This object is green with traces of gilding on the upper face and also on the underside.

Diameter: 19.0mm; height of head: 3.0mm; overall height: 18.1mm. Weight: 4.22g.
