An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1250 - 1500. The buckle is a single loop D-shape with bevelled edges. A recessed pin rest is present on the outer loop of the frame. The pin no longer remains. File marks are present on all surfaces.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The buckle is 32.7mm long, 23.2mm wide, 2.5mm thick and weighs 4.3g.
Similar example are illustrated in Whitehead (1996), p.18 and are dated to circa AD 1250 - 1500.
