An incomplete copper alloy single looped buckle of medieval date (1250-1500).
The main part of the buckle is nearly square in section with a slightly bevelled facing edge. The buckle frame becomes thicker towards the leading edge. There is a small groove on the leading top edge to accept the buckle pin where there is a small knop. The buckles attachment bar is square in section. The pin is missing.
The buckle is 11.9mm long, 14.5mm wide, 1.8mm thick and weighs 0.5 grams.The buckle has a green patina.
