A copper alloy circular mount or stud with leather, or probable Post Medieval to Modern date, about AD 1700 - 1900. It is a metal stud with a thin round back plate ( 14mm diameter) and a shank of indeterminate section which passes through a circular rove or washer of 15mm diameter and thickness 1.6mm. The end of the shank is flattened to secure the stud. At least two, possibly three, layers of leather survive between the rivet and rove, and one piece extends to 41mm long and 26mm wide. 7.2g.
