A one-piece cast copper-alloy late Iron Age to Early Roman brooch of the Tène III Type, dating to 50 BC - AD 70. It has a three-coil spring mechanism with internal chord and complete pin. The bow is curved in profile and has an oval cross-section tapering towards the foot where it flatens creating the catch plate. The catch plate is trapezoidal in profile and has the upper corner of the back edge folded in itself in order to create the catch for the pin.

The complete example is in good condition; it has signs of abrasion over the surface and traces of a redish brown patina. Cf. Mackreth (2011, p. 15, pl. 12, no. 4893)
