A complete cooper alloy Seal Matrix of Medieval date (AD 1250-1450). The object is circular with an integral circular lug set at the top of the inscription (12 O'clock). The inner field of the seal bares the image of a bird, possible a crow moving left looking over its right shoulder with three feathers behind. The outer field of the object retains a legible retrograde inscription. The inscription reads: +S' ABBIS: S: RADEGVND. -- ABBIS is an abbreviated form of Lat. ABBATIS ("of the abbot").


The metal is a dark green in colour with a smooth patina.


Height: 36.09mm, Width: 28.58mm, Thickness: 2.94mm, weight: 11.3g.


This seal is then associate with Saint Radegund a 6th century (AD 520-587) female saint who's Premonstratensian Abbey is located in Bradsole near Dover another being a Benedictine Nunnery located in Cambridge (established 10th Century dissolution in 16th Century) along with some smaller parish churches named for the saint and a Monastery in Poitiers, France which the saint established herself.
