Incomplete cast copper alloy double-loop vesica-shaped buckle frame, with strap bar but the pin is missing. The central strap bar is flush with the frame and narrows from 6 mm to 2 mm in the centre where it has been worn thinner by the pin. The loops are slightly asymmetrical and oval in plan. The frame is angled, becoming wider at the outer edges of the two loops, coming to a point mid-way along the outer edge. The frame is flat on the back with a slightly convex upper face. The upper and lower edges of the frame are pitted and corroded but there is slight evidence suggestive of a small knop at one end of the strap bar. Much of the tinning still survives on the surface of the frame.

Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar buckle with slight knops at the end of the strap bar, on page 56, no.323, which is dated from c.1500-1650.
