A complete brooch in the shape of a scutum, pointed oval or eye, with a central circular protrusion, (diameter: 12mm) which has a second, smaller circular protrusion (diameter: 4mm) in the centre. It can be tentatively identified as Roman.

The back of the object is flat, with a hollow circle in the centre where the front of the brooch is raised. There is a hinged pin and a small, possibly damaged, catchplate.

The object is slightly worn and scratched, and has a silvery-grey patina, with some green colour showing through on the main face, smallest central protrusion and back pin.

There are some morphologically similar objects on the database, including LIN-261F17 and PUBLIC-B5EF65
