Incomplete cast copper alloy leg and foot from a cauldron. The leg and foot are straight-sided in plan and profile and plano-convex in section with a flat back. The base of the foot is flat but angled outwards with a casting cavity on one side. There are five rounded ribs, the central one widest at 12 mm and the two outer ribs least prominent, running parallel to each other from the broken upper edge of the leg to the transverse collar above the foot. Below the collar the foot splays out and is everted outwards slightly and continues the five claws with the central one again most prominent at a width of 14 mm. There are patches of black organic material that have been burnt on to the surface of the leg and foot when the cauldron was near the fire. The leg above the collar is pockmarked with several holes in the casting.

Butler & Green (2003) illustrate a cauldron with similar legs on page 153, no.158 which they say is typical of the 17th century.
