A complete but bent and broken Medieval silver short cross penny of Henry II (1154-1189) minted by Gocelm at Winchester. Class 1c, 1185-1189 (North 1994: 220, ref: 964).
Obverse: hENRICVS REX; Crowned bust facing with sceptre.
Reverse: + (cross pattée) GOCELM·ON·WINC; Voided short cross with a quatrefoil in each quadrant.
Diameter: 21.0mm. Weight: 1.35g. DA=12:9.
When found, the coin was folded through 180° so that the obverse was not visible.
