Medieval (mid 13th to 14th century) annular brooch: The copper alloy brooch is circular in plan and has six collets. Each collet is conical and set with a white paste (with the exception of one), possibly calcium carbonate, on each terminal. The original settings are missing. Between each collet the frame is moulded with low-relief pellets. Between two collets there is a narrowed, circular section bar for the pin, which has a double-stranded terminal which meet around the bar. The reverse is undecorated. The surface of the brooch has a brown-grey patina.

It measures 19.47mm long, 19.37mm wide, 2.8mm thick and weighs 1.91g.

Similar examples can be seen illustrated in Meols (Griffiths, D. Et al 2007), Nos. 1720 to 1728. Evidence from excavated examples mentioned by Griffiths et al. (ibid. p.144) appears to suggest a mid 13th to 14th century date for this type of brooch. An almost identical example has been recorded from Alcester , Warwickshire (WAW-FE7B76).
