An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy watch winder (c. 1825-c. 1900).

The winding key and attachment loop are missing.

A die stamped oval plate has the stubs of the attachment loop at the top and a collar at the bottom. The collar is circular in cross-section. Each side of the plate has raised decoration. One side has a male human bust facing left with indeterminate motifs to the upper left and right and lower left and right. The other side has a fox in the standing position facing left and looking forwards. There is a perched bird to the left and right of the fox. The bird to the left, possibly a wader, is in a standing position and is resting on a curlicue. The bird to the right is standing in a bush with berries.

This object is reddish brown with bright green corrosion products.
