A silver Medieval coin; a cut half short cross penny of John (AD 1199 - 1216), of the Ruddlan mint in Wales, Group II, Class iii, dating from AD 1205 - 1210. The moneyer is Simond and the initial cross is a cross pommee. The coin is 18.78mm long, 9.6mm wide and 0.8mm thick. 0.56g. See page 67 of Wren (2006) and compare SF-D2C426. The coin is bent and cracked along the inner border.
