A complete cast copper alloy openwork hooked fitting from a sword or baldrick belt C. AD 1500-1600 The fitting is circular with a cut out man in the moon and star design. There is evidence of gilding in places and the remains of leather are hooked into the lugs on the reverse of the fitting. There appear to be two lugs behind the moon and one behind the star. The sources suggest that there are usually two lugs.
