A copper alloy Late Iron Age or Roman possible strap fitting, perhaps a strap slide, stud, mount or inlay, dating from about 50 BC - AD 300. The object is a circular disc. The front is decorated with a grooved border and within that, five circular recesses filled with red enamel, arranged like the spots on a die in a cross pattern. The front face is convex. The reverse is flatter, but there is no surviving attachment. Two faint raised patches on opposing sides of the reverse may be the remains of a loop to act as a strap slide, similr to SWYOR-BC96D7. The breaks are very worn and completely patinated. The style suggests a Late Iron Age to Roman date, though the exact function remains unclear. It is 16.7mm diameter, 3.9mm thick and 3.74g.
