A copper alloy Roman plate brooch in the shape of a crescent dating to c AD 120-220. The brooch is almost complete and is only missing its pin and the boss from one tip of the crescent. The brooch is flat and in the shape of a crescent with a boss on the one remaining point. The outer edge of the crescent has a sawtooth design with the centre two teeth forming a different motif. The decoration is a mixture of triangles and circular motifs with evidence of enamel in the fields. The brooch weighs 5.5g and measures 31.06mm in length, 21.63mm in width, 8.05mm in height and 1.87mm in thickness.
