A complete Post Medieval copper alloy open thimble dating to the period cAD1500 - 1620. The thimble has sloping sides and a continuous right-hand spiral of square indentations running from the base to the top rim. At the end of the indentations there is a stamped maker's mark of a crown with three circular rings inside a domed recessed panel. An incised line runs round the lower rim of the thimble. It measures 10.74mm in height, 19.17mm in diameter at the top and 21.09mm at the base and weighs 4.84g.
