An incomplete copper alloy harness pendant dating to the medieval period (AD 1200 - AD 1400).

The harness pendant is flat and lozenge shaped. There is no suspension loop remaining. The raised design consists of a central, standing lion, with all four feet on the ground and the forepaws together. In heraldic terms, this position is known as 'lion statant'. The lion is surrounded by a raised square border, and there is the remains of red enamel within. There are four fleur de lis surrounding the border, one in each corner of the lozenge. The reverse has six incised rectangles positioned in sets of three along two sides of the lozenge.

The metal is worn and dark green in colour. The pendant is 30.5 mm long, 29.2 mm wide, and 2.4 mm thick. It weighs 11.3 g.

There are numerous examples of this design on the PAS database, however all are quatrefoil shaped pendants: SWYOR-065E16, HAMP-906237, HAMP-4EF487, HAMP-3591F1, HAMP-5AF5E1, IHS-135135, IHS-134231, IHS-132A26, IHS-131483, IHS-130067, IHS-12E771, IHS-12C832, IHS-12B177, IHS-129A32. These records note that the design refers to the English Royal arms, and likely marks allegiance to the crown. Several (e.g. IHS-130067) also suggest that the quatrefoil pendants may have only been used by men, whereas lozenge shaped examples were used by women.
