A collection of lead pieces from different ages, a sample of a larger group, estimated by the finder to be perhaps three times as large in total.

There are about 157 lead pieces and many of these are amorphous. There are sets within this collection that have distinguishing features that group them together.

- There are two pieces of lead that have had holes punched through, and thought that these could possibly be weights, although their irregular outlines and damage make this uncertain or possibly they were mis-cast.

- There are two pieces that are triangular, one is very flat and thought to have been cut from a piece of sheet lead.

- There are ninenteen pieces that have a bar shape to them, ie much longer then they are wide or thick, some are circular in cross section, other oval or sub-rectangular, all are dented, most with many indents and bends and fairly irregular.

- Of these ninenteen there is a group of five pieces that each have a projection. These pieces are all relatively flat and the circular cross sectioned projection protrudes out by a maximum of 3.8mm. Similar pieces have been found on other Roman sites and they may be a form of vessel mend (see SOM-E13ADB).

- A group of four pieces have incised lines on them, many of the markings are straight lines.

- There are six pieces of lead that are pieces of sheet that have been rolled up.

- There are two pieces of a square/rectangle shape that have a triangle cut out of one side, fairly roughly with several cut marks.

The heaviest piece of lead weighs 78.75g. The group weighs in total 1928 g.

The lead pieces come from a site that has produced Roman and Post Medieval material. Cloth seals, pot mends and a 19th century bullet were found with them as well as very large pieces of lead.
