A complete copper alloy mount, probably from a composite horse-harness pendant, of Medieval date (AD 1200-1400). The mount is quatrefoil, with each arm terminating with a lobed trefoil. Incised lines decorate the detail of the terminals. The centre is domed with a central circular perforation. There is a circular-sectioned dome-headed rivet retained separately to the object and found with the mount. The back of the object is concave. Both sides of the object retain a large amount of gilding; otherwise, the metal is a light green in colour. Length: 11.37mm, Width: 11.35mm, Thickness: 5.03mm, Length (rivet): 7.32mm, Weight: 1.1g.
Compare the complete horse-harness pendants WAW-749547, NMS-C7FB8D and SF-D09694, and another detached mount PUBLIC-2B4FD0.
Pendants which have lost their mounts include BUC-1B64CD, NLM-608175, NMS-8AECC5 and PUBLIC-4A3192.
