13 Lithic implements
Mesolithic-Bronze Age

1: Microlith, 24mm long7mm wide, the right side has a semi-abrupt blade, the left is abrupt with crossed abrupt retouch to blunt it. Light grey patina. There would have been a point but this has snapped off exposing grey flint. Late Mesolithic.
2: Debitage, 15mm long, 18mm wide. One arise on the dorsal, remains of the cortex on the butt off white patina which darkens towards the cortex. Prehistoric.
3: Blade, 28mm long, 16mm wide. Bulb of percussion on the ventral, single large flaking scar covers the dorsal, slight retouch towards the tip. Light brown colour with darker mottling. Late-Mesolithic-Early Neolithic.
4: Flake, 26mm long, 13mm wide. Semi-abrupt edge down the right side the left side still has the cortex about 65% of which remains. mid brown colour. Bronze Age.
5: Uncertain lithic implement. Flaking scars cover both the ventral and dorsal sides. the front section is missing due to frost damage. The left side has been exposed to intense heat and has turned a creamy colour, with frequent crackling. Similar flaking patterns are see on Mesolithic axes, but the date and purpose of this artefact are uncertain.
6: Lithic fragment: 21mm long, 27mm wide. Both the dorsal and ventral sides are truncated due to frost damage. The side has an abrupt angle with flaking scars running down it. Off white patina on the side, off white patina with grey patches on the frost damaged sides. Prehistoric.
7: Lithic implement, 34mm long, 21mm wide. Cortex on the butt, 10% remains, rough steeped cutting edge in the left and one on the lower right corner. Light greyish brown colour. Bronze Age.
8: Core rejuvenation flake, 40mm long, 25mm wide. Cortex covers the dorsal, light brown flint on the ventral. No working edges. Prehistoric.
9: Core rejuvenation flake, 30mm long, 22mm wide. Cortex covers the ventral, the dorsal has two faces. Light creamy colour with a dark brown patch. Prehistoric.
10: Core rejuvenation flake, 53mm long, 28mm wide. Triangular cross section. Prepared striking platform at the top, with long thin flaking scars running down wards on one side. Cortex covering the other side, the last face is flat. Possibly Neolithic.
11: Flake, 37mm long, 21mm wide. One arise with a working edge down either of the long sides. Creamy patina with orange speckles. Possibly Bronze Age.
12: Core rejuvenation flake, 40mm long, 34mm wide. Cortex covers 80% of the dorsal with a flaking scar o n either side dark greyish brown flint exposited on the ventral. Prehistoric. 13: Semi-circular scrapper, 28mm long, 27mm wide. Long, abrupt, scaled, direct retouch on the forward edge. cortex on the back half. Grey patina on the ventral, brown flint on the retouched areas. Bronze Age.
