Copper alloy key. Cast rotary key with a kidney-shaped bow and a moulded collared stem which is thicker at its outer end, diminishing towards the bit from a further, grooved, collar. The rectangular but has two clefts front and one back, producing an angular S-shape. The size may suggest use to lock a casket or item of furniture. The stem is bent at its point of constriction. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1700.
