Silver coin. Probably a Scots eighth thistle-merk of James VI of Scotland (1567-1625), eighth coinage of 1601-1603. Possibly lightly clipped.

Obverse description: crowned heraldic shield with Lion rampant of Scotland right.

Obverse inscription: IACOBVS[---]OTOR[--]

Reverse description: Crowned thistle. Inscription lost to wear.
