A small flint scraper of probable Late Neolithic date, c. 3,300-2,400BC. Worked from a tertiary flake of dark grey-brown flint speckled with pale inclusions. The ventral face exhibits a diffuse bulb of percussion with bulbar scar. One of two negative removal scars on the dorsal face appears to have been struck from a different striking platform to the overall flake. The distal end exhibits short, scalar, semi-abrupt retouch.
Dimensions: length 15.9mm; width 16.5mm; thickness 6.1mm; weight 1.51g.
Part of a small assemblage of flint found in the same area, containing an incomplete plano-convex knife (DEV-100D63) and oblique arrowhead (DEV-CD9A31) suggesting a late Neolithic date range. See also: DEV-CC5126, DEV-10962A, DEV-CDDFD5, DEV-CCADC3, DEV-CCF8F4.
