Silver coin. Short cross cut halfpenny, kindly identified by a published authority who wishes to withhold his own details, correcting an initial identification of the coin as of Rochester mint by this reporter. Our informant comments as follows: '...Small problem with Unique ID NLM-CD1AD3. It's Rhuddlan mint not Rochester. The coin is: R3c6, Brand 3335, Llywelyn ab Iorwerth (1195-1211), John (1211-1213): HENRICVS R/EX SIMON.ON.RVLA (A good example is National Museum Cardiff 54.2/1). He adds 'Check out the small pellet below the 5 pellets in the crown. It has no curl around it and Simon only struck R3c6 and R3ca the sceptre are at a different angle and the latter has a curl around the small pellet. There are only 53 Rhuddlan coin recorded on PAS (two of yours) so every one counts'.

Cut halfpenny of John (1199-1216), moneyer Simon at Rhuddlan mint mint, issue of 1211-1213.
