TOBACCO PIPE

Unique ID: NLM-CC7C5E

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Pipeclay tobacco pipe fragment. A broad moulded pipe bowl with a prominent basal spur and a narrow [c.2mm] wire drawn bore. Moulded decoration comprises crossing narrow bars with other, more fragmentary, curvilinear features. The object is water-rolled, with the loss of some surface detail. The ample bowl, moulded decoration and narrow bore together suggest a relatively recent date. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1840-1860.

Height (at bowl): 38mm, Length (along stem): 49.7mm, Weight: 7.87gms
