An incomplete cast copper-alloy annular buckle dating to the later Medieval or early Post-Medieval period, c. 1350-1650. The pin is missing, but otherwise the object survives intact. It is circular in plan and double looped, with a central strap bar. The underside of the buckle is flattened, while its upper surface is somewhat angled and demonstrates signs of bevelling. Preserved in fair condition with an uneven greenish patina, it measures 22.52mm in diameter, 3.15mm thick at the midpoint of the frame and weighs 2.95g.

A similar buckle has been recorded on the PAS database as IOW-7A479C, see also Whitehead (2003), refs. 251-256. This is a widely used form and as such a relatively wide date range has been suggested.
