An incomplete copper-alloy mount of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500 - 1700. The mount comprises an openwork lozenge frame with two integral attachment rivets placed either side of the central lozenge-shaped hole to the reverse. One rivet is bent inward, the other is broken and worn.
The frame is flat and rectangular in section with a linear recess containing a series of raised pellets following the shape of the frame.
The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The mount is 29.4mm long, 18.9mm wide, 1.4mm thick (5.3mm with rivets) and weighs 1.9g.
Similar examples have been recorded with the PAS including YORYM-75BD04, IOW-28E8EB, ESS-B3DCB5 and SUSS-769592.
