Incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester Derivative, hinged brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Chapter 3, Type 4 or 5. The remaining portions of both wings are plain, both terminating in old breaks. They exhibit a transverse seam across the underside within which can be seen the remains of the iron axis bar. At the centre of the head is a slot for this missing pin. The bow tapers back from the head, terminiating in an old break. It exhibits worn traces of a border and triple element running down the middle, the centre ridge possibly beaded. The foot and catchplate are missing.
